Books are amazing. Like Tony Robbins has said: "Reading is the fastest way to condense decades of an author's experience into days", which is why I always take make sure I take the time to read and learn.
Today, I'm launching a new series called the Entrepreneur Book Club where I share with you my favourite books that have helped me throughout my entrepreneurial journey. In today's inaugural episode, I'm sharing my top 7 books for STARTUP FOUNDERS.
The reason for picking these 7 books are simple; I wish I had read these while I was starting out Click Funnels! These selections that I've picked cover several topics and challenges that every startup founder will face: Should I build a completely remote company? Should I take on VC funding? How do I get the message of my company or product to the masses? These were some of questions that I had, and these books helped me answer them or change my way of thinking to solve problems.
If you're a startup founder, I hope this selection of books helps you as much as it did for me.

Looking forward to reading these recommendations.
I have loved the book Essentialism. It has helped me many times to realize where to focus as life throws many options at us.
One of my favorite business books I’ve read so far is The Art Of Human Chess by Pimpin Ken.
My favorite business book is “When coffee and kale compete” by Alan Klement. It’s about the innovative principle that a customer is hiring a product to get a specific job done. There are many different products someone could hire to get the same job done. With this lens, competition becomes a broader field than just products that are in the same category. For example, someone wants to store their books. The customer is now in the market to buy a shelve. But at the same time, she could also hire anything that gets the same job done, being, “store my books”. Even so far as hiring an ebook reader to store books digitally. The competition field becomes broader, and you can take it to your advantage.
Great book recommendations! Thanks for sharing. One the most impactful books for me was Get Off Your But by Sean Stephenson. Itβs really helped me stay focused and to continue working on my business when I wanted to give up and felt like it was all getting too hard.
I absolutely want those books. I really liked Secrets of a Millionaire Mind. I love the feeling I got from reading it, it really got me pumped up.
This is a great list of books. Like Shoe Dogs, I liked Elon Musk by Ashlee Vance. Seeing that their companies went through the same problems and struggles that I have, put things in a new perspective. They were all startups at one time too
The Best book I’ve read till is Rich Dad & Poor Dad.
It literally helped me to understand about money and gave much knowledge about it. I can say, It is the book which impacted most in my life and this marketing journey.
I’d suggest the book to everyone who is in marketing space.
Thanks!
Thanks Russell, my favorite business book π is called “The Learn Startup” it gave a blueprint on how to ultimately start and grow a start up company, when to pivot and when to scale
Loving the shoes dog by Phil knight. The story of from 0-empire is not only inspire start up company but also inspire the extra mile that he took in the 70s
Extreme Ownership – As a young start up founder with a small team, ownership, taking responsibility for the good and bad is something I am learning and growing in. I appreciate this so much Russell! Thanks for all you share and do for our community.
My favourite book is “SO GOOD THAT THEY CAN’T IGNORE YOU”
the book is about that there is no such thing as passion you have to learn to love the work you do and soon you will know what you are good at π
Secret trilogy, Rework, and The Ultimate Sales Machine by Chet Holmes are my favorite books ever
Agree. I started reading on a holiday (only time i read) in 2019 and it totally flipped a switch in my head, and the wifes and since then we have gone on to build a great asset base. And you you know, I still have about half the book to read!! Would like to buy Robert a beer. Love his work. Pretty sure he (his team) uses click funnels now days?
“Task over people vs people over task.”
Way back in my past church (this story of mine can do so much with building a biz as principles are the same).
I have been leading a girl group of 15.
We meet every week for a bible study and teaching them the word of God passionately..
As weeks gone by, we were having fun (i thought), our numbers went from 15, to 12, to 8, to 4 to 2.
I was wondering how they don’t love God as much as I do. (LOL whenever I thought this way before).
they weren’t consistent, they don’t reply to my chats, etc.
Even used the bible to rationalize my passion.
I never knew I was a pharisee…
Tensions were there.
They felt judged whenever I counsel them.
Even my intension was pure to encourage them, yet they felt the other way.
I wonder why some of them are consistent with other group (not mine!)
That’s why whenever I get to have one on one counselling with someone, i don’t get to have it twice anymore. I felt my group was distant.
Maybe they have a problem..
Until I realized that the problem was me.
That’s why I liked “Winning With People” by John C. Maxwell.
It changes my perspective on how I should treat people differently.
The time i moved to a diff church, leading different girls, applied the principles, i began to see how consistent they were. We are growing from 3 to 4, to 5, to 6 to 8.
One of them whom I counselled even shared how I was able to pinpoint her flaws yet without her feeling judged at all. She calls it decent rebuke. Thanking me on how she got clarity about herself.
I cannot wait on how God can use me effectively in ministry and in business as I learned so much how to win people πππ
My favorite book is “Limitless by Jim Kwik”
If you want to learn and read faster and don’t forget, this is the perfect book πͺ
My favorite book is definitely Traffic secrets by Russel Brunson, I love how he explains concepts that are sometimes not easy to understand in a totally conversational way by adding personal events related to a certain topic! It really changed my view on my business! Thanks Russel!
yes, i was reading that too when i was in highschool, that book impacted my life too, now i have digital assets like app, online course in udemy, and a little youtube channel π
My Favourite Book is “Permission Marketing by Seth Godin” –
The way of doing maketing has changed a lot in the last few years, and this book explains it a lot about it. In fact, this video that you are doing here is exactly what this book is about. “Turn strangers into friends, and friends into customers!”
@Gus Nando Great to hear, I wish I found it sooner, 40 when i found it! I have hard assets, looking at digital now but need to learn much more.
*Teach your body emotionally what it would feel to believe in this way, to be empowered, to be moved by your own greatness, to be invisible, to be in love with life, to feel unlimited, and to live as if your prayers are already answered* ππΊ
@John Stephens good luck bro, i believe you can make digital assets too π
I love “Zero to One” by peter thiel, who believes startups investing on innovating on new products will help advance the world more than copies of great ideas.
Shoe Dog- This book showed me the true path of entrepreneurship, how the little things could impact so many lives in the world, what a rough road entrepreneurship is but it is worth it
One of my favorite books is “Rich Dad Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki. I like it because it taught me a lot about generating assets.
